Villa Versus Apartment

When booking a holiday it is important to choose the right accommodation and, with so much to choose from, it`s sometimes difficult to make a choice. Many people choose to rent apartments or villas but what are the main differences and most importantly, which is better.

One of the main ways in which an apartment and a villa differ is space. Typically apartments are smaller and are usually only one floor whereas villas are a lot larger and can feature several floors. This means that villas, as well as having more space for leisure, can accommodate more people which is ideal for large families or groups. Also, because villas offer accommodation on the ground floor they are more suitable for people who are disabled, elderly and have children.

Another way in which villas differ from apartments is the level of privacy. Villas are usually a lot more isolated and there are no other occupants above or below which means that they are generally quieter` which is ideal for relaxing. Of course, this also means that there are less opportunities to socialise in a villa as there may not necessarily be any immediate neighbours to talk to. However, this is perfect if you`re looking for absolute solitude.

As well as more space and privacy, villas also tend to have access to private pools while apartments have shared pools. This means that in a villa the pool can be used any time of day and night. It also means that the pool will always be quiet, available and will remain clean. However, this may not necessarily be the best for children who want to play with other children and it also means that children will have to be supervised at all times.

One other way a villa differs from an apartment is location. Apartments are typically located near sea fronts and in the town while villas can be located in more remote locations. This can include in mountains, countryside and small villages which are better for quiet, relaxed holidays. However, this can mean that villas are situated far away from essential transport links and amenities such as supermarkets.

There are several differences between
private villa rental  and renting apartments including space, privacy, location and the pool as well as many other aspects. In terms of what is better, it depends on whether the holiday is intended to be a relaxing getaway or a fun, social holiday.

Finding the right Family Holiday Accommodation

Finding the right family holiday accommodation can be a challenge. However there are plenty of options around and with a little bit of research you can find somewhere to stay that will help to make your family holiday really special.

Every family`s needs are different though so before planning your family break spend a bit of time thinking about your own family`s particular circumstances. A family with a baby will have very different requirements from those with a teenager, or families with toddlers or school age children.

There are many hotels in different locations that all claim to be family friendly but sometimes these are not quite what you might expect. Good things to check out include the availability of family rooms, or perhaps rooms with inter connecting doors. Catering is another important factor, for example, what time does the restaurant open to serve food in the evening, do they have a special menu for children or at least a menu that will suit your children`s particularly dietary preferences. You will find that there are hotels that do cater well for families, look out for extras like babysitting services, play areas or clubs and things such as DVD`s, toys and books available in rooms. With crèche or play club facilities check how the site is managed and what regulations or standards they comply with, don`t be afraid to make sure before you make use of any service that things such as adult child ratios are being adequately maintained.

You may prefer to look at accommodation in self catering cottages or apartments. The advantage of this type of accommodation is that you are free to come and go as you please, always an advantage, especially with young children. Make sure that you check the equipment and facilities that are available. For example if you need equipment such as cots and highchairs, these can be quite bulky items if you have to pack them along with all the rest of your holiday luggage. You can also find self catering accommodation on complexes where there are other facilities such as swimming pools, playgrounds or play rooms.

Another option to consider is camping or caravanning both can offer a range of facilities which make them good possibilities for a family holiday, particularly for families with older children. Camp sites come with a range of facilities from the basic to those offering a more luxurious and wider range of facilities.

It is possible to find the right family holiday accommodation whether you prefer hotels, campsites or holiday cottages
A little bit of research and time spent checking out all the options will make all the difference to your holiday experience.

Situated on the Left Bank of Paris it is close enough to walk to the Eiffel Tower and to enjoy the Paris summer air. Its décor is modern with murals dominating the hall way and the other walls. With a combination of relaxing white, greys and reds it is the perfect retreat after a hard days sightseeing.
